Salesforce licensed our XR Avatar Scanner, a portable volumetric scanner, for the Salesforce Connections Chicago conference to create a one-of-a-kind experience and takeaway for their event guests. The Groove Jones team scanned thousands of attendees at the event and integrated their digitalized avatars into a customized bespoke fashion show featuring Astro sporting a pair of Crocs.
The scanner system is Groove Jones’ proprietary volumetric scanner platform that captures a person’s 3d data in seconds. The scanner captures your 3d data while at the same time taking multiple pictures of your body using over 50 HD cameras. Each scanner system can scan over 1,000 people a day.
The system then automatically stitches the pictures together, adds a rig within a person’s 3d data, and then animates them to create a one-of-a-kind video where they are the star.
For this experience, we animated each guest walking down the catwalk in a fashion show along with Astro. The experience was used to highlight a customer success story with Crocs.
The scanner can be updated and staged to make it part of the event brand and style. The upper ring was customized to look to be a part of the overall aesthetic of the event.
Customized Digital Event Takeaways
Before stepping into the scanner, each guest registers with their mobile device by scanning a QRCode onsite. During the registration process, we collect important information from a client. Once the guest is scanned, they receive an email highlighting their experience with a link to download the customized, bespoke video where they are the star.
